There is nothing to dislike about this place. We were seated immediately. Waitress brought out drinks out really quickly. The complimentary cornbread and butter was delicious. The restaurant is clean, if a little outdated. The prices average $12 per plate.

I am Shocked at how expensive this restaurant is. We came in around dinner time to not many tables but the servers running around like they have never seen such a large crowd. The salad bar was depleted and no one was available to restock the items. My husbands meal came with a muffin that tasted freezer burned and was completely inedible. Sadly I can understand why most of the locations have closed. Won't return.

I received a $25.00 gift certificate from my daughter for Marie Callendar's. I took the gift card and my debit card into the restaurant and ordered 2 coconut crime pies using the gift card and paying the additional $5.18 with my debit card. I noticed on my bank account I had 2 separate charges..one for $5.18 (as there should have been) and a separate one for $25.00. I contacted the store and was told by a gentleman they would research and get right back to me! I never heard anything from them, but upon checking my bank account found the 2 charges had been changed to one and there is a $30.18 charge. No credit whatsoever for my gift card!!! What a way to do business!!! Very very disappointed!

Service sucked. Salad bar sucked. Dressings frozen and lack of choice. Soup was the size of a shot glass. Cream pie served on a warm plate. Took forever to get drinks filled. Never going again. Way over priced. Go-to the McDonald's across the street

Look, I don't want to call you dumb, but a little honesty here. If you're going here for anything other than the pies, you're going for the wrong reason. Yes, this is a huge gigantic corporate conglomeration, but there are precious few of these restaurants around. Most days, if I happen to go in, it's a marvel to me that this is one of them. You can easily go and get a great collection of Marie Callender items of varying quality in the frozen section of your favorite huge grocery store, some of which will appear in this store as well, but this name has built its reputation on pies. The food here is mediocre, for the most part, occasionally rising to substandard and once in a while even to average, but that's not why you would come here, unless you really like gloppy, heavy (I suppose some would call this comfort food) sauces slathered all over everything and service that frequently borders on risible. For all of that - and we're talking 2 stars or less at this point - those pies will pull it up...as long as they have them. Sometimes they run out. Frequently they run out. It will probably be the one you want and you won't know until you try to leave. When you do, spend a lot of time hoping (or praying) you don't get behind someone staring into those cases trying to figure out what they should get (and you probably want) or your rapid retreat after the interminable visit will be more an exercise in prolonged agony. Still...what is there to say...some days those pies are worth it. The rest of the time, though, just keep on going.

I ate here with my 2 sons who didn't appreciate the old school atmosphere. The food is OK but the price was extremely high. I was surprised at the bad service we received from our waiter since we were one of 2 tables in the place. Food was just what I can pick up from our frozen food section only 17$ to reheat. I Enjoy the pie but from now on will pick one up rather than go to restaurant.

04/28/2012 5:00 pm Full disclosure: I was pretty demanding when I ordered two simple pies at the counter. The server had to change out the pie twice because they had little blemishes on them. I wanted the pies to look like they had just come from heaven for the dinner party I was going to, and she finally found one that was without blemish. So, thank you to the server who helped me. She went above and beyond.

Where does Marie Callendar's get off charging ridiculous prices for their pies? I came to pick up a pie for dessert and had no idea what to get. Alas, the ever so helpful young woman at the front desk was equally as useless and rude on top of that. She definitely needs lessons in customer service. The young woman did not look happy when I came in, which is fine. But then I asked her about the pies and she seemed annoyed I was even asking. I asked how much one of the pies were and she said some price, not including tax and tip. Yes, thank you for reminding me to tip. After a little deliberation we decided on the razzleberry. Almost $14 for a little pie?? If it weren't for an occasion I'd have left. Anyways I refused to tip, what am I going to tip her for? Putting a pie in a box for me? I will never visit here again.

Half the menu was "unable to be made", and the server had no idea what the hell was going on.

The cheesecake gods began calling my name in the late afternoon heading home from a meeting. Im not in my usual cheesecake environment and Im scratching my head as to where could I grab a good slice to go (other than cheesecake factory, which I gladly avoid). I remember Marie's sells them in Los Angeles, so lets try the one that is semi close to my apartment. I walked in and instantly thought "this is going to be a mistake". The display case was less than half stocked. The greeting area could use a good sweep. No attendant at the register until four minutes had passed. I'm met with a grin and a "what'll ya have". 1 slice of chocolate cheesecake, which after taxes was over $7.00. One slice of chocolate colored but flavorless chessecake comes home with me. In a nutshell, visually unappealling, bland tasting, unremarkable service. Nope, I won't be back to this location.

It's just an ok place. The food was nothing special, but it wasn't bad neither. Had the famous chicken pot pie, again it was ok. Also had the herb chicken, which was good. Also, had the shrimp pot pie, yeah kinda not a dish you would expect, not that many shrimp in it neither. The apple pie also was ok. The best part was the value. Seem like it catered to someone looking for value. The decor was very bus stop like, service was reasonable. Didn't want to give it one star, but it is a weak two. We went there because of the name recognition to the frozen food.

First meal after landing in SLC. Excellent service. Love the fireplaces in-house!! Had the herb chicken with roasted potatoes and broccoli. Gobbled up the entire dish. Maybe I was super hungry after two flights or maybe it was really delicious. Probably both!! Did not get to try dessert since I was stuffed to the brim. But our family's double blueberry cream pie slices looked heavenly!!

This place would be a great place to take your grandma if she was born and raised in Utah, racist, and has no culture whatsoever. This place is a little over priced for what it is and it's a boring dining experience. It's utter silent, the waiters and waitresses are lame, the menu is bland and very all-American with zero originality. I'm not one that needs a TV to eat but this place definitely could benefit from one. I'd tell you what I ate and how it was but there's not point. Just don't come here. Unless your a grandma going to a meeting for the founders of the Relief Society.

While the food was the usual fine fare the service at this particular Marie Callendars more resembles the "Zombie Apocalypse". The help was lethargic, said nothing, didn't bring silverware and were a downer on the whole experience. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have particular standards for service.

Awful!! Slow service. Terrible food. We ordered takeout and they didn't even have plastic utensils!! What a joke.

I came tonight determined to five 5 stars, because I've been sad that all the Marie callanders have been disappearing. It has always been my favorite place to go get dessert after a performance or concert (but I haven't been in probably eight years). Arrived at 10:30, 30 min before closing. No one comes to seat us, we make coughing noises, nothing. We finally called the number to get someone's attention. There was a vacuum sitting out on the floor, again, no one around. Although there were a couple of people eating. We order pie-- my favorite is warm peach a la mode-- hubby gets chocolate velvet something or other, and kid gets banana cream. Theirs come out with no whipped cream on top, we're told they're out. My crust is soft and microwave-squishy, and the bottom was uncooked-dough-white. I couldn't tell if it was underdone or soggy from filling being in it for so long (ie not fresh). Still, I gave it 3 stars because our waitress felt bad and, well, nostalgia. My conclusion is that they are trying to get bad reviews, because I can't explain how this could happen so consistently.

Worst service and it keeps getting worse. It takes over an hour. Not sure what the issue is, but if they keep going Ike this they will end up closing the doors! Not coming back again.

I Brought a group of seniors today (we called before to let them know we were coming we told them 15 but we ended up with 10 in our group.) They seated us in the very back and walked away we thought they would be back to get a drink order and give us our menu's but no we after a 45 minute wait went and got our menus after we looked at it for a few minutes and still no service I went to the hostess at the front & told them to send someone so it was basically over an hour before they even got our drink order. I have never been in a restaurant with that bad of service in my life - NEVER COMING BACK!
